by Jessica Polko In mid-December, San Francisco signed Mike Matheny to a three-year, $10.5M contract that includes a $2M buyout on a $4M option for 2008. In addition to a $3M signing bonus, the deal sets his salaries at $1M in 2005, $2.25M in 2006, and $2.25M in 2007. The Giants will pay the signing bonus in three parts: $500,000 in 2005, $1M in 2006, and $1.5M in 2007.
