by Jessica Polko Following roster expansion, Boston activated Dave McCarty, Trot Nixon, Pokey Reese, Scott Williamson, and Kevin Youkilis from the DL while calling up Pedro Astacio, Adam Hyzdu, Sandy Martinez, and Brandon Puffer. Puffer was only with the team for a day before the Red Sox designated him for assignment to make room for one of the new additions to the Boston 40-man roster.
