Dr. McKoyie

by Jessica Polko

Arizona placed Koyie Hill on the disabled list on August 18th. Hill fractured his right ankle on a fourth inning play at the plate with Ty Wigginton in the Diamondbacks' August 17th game against the Pirates. Following the collision he remained in the game, catching another three outs to finish the inning before coming out. Although he fractured his tibia and suffered some ligament damage in his ankle, Hill will not need surgery to repair the injury. However, he should be in a cast for four to six weeks followed by a walking boot for another four to six weeks, so he will not have time to return before the season ends.
