Arizona placed RHP Scott Service on the disabled list yesterday. Service attempted to pitch through a lower back strain but recently decided that his effectiveness has been compromised by the injury. The Diamondbacks have not yet set a timetable for Service's return, and he could find himself without a roster spot once he recovers.
