Cliff Notes

by Jessica Polko

The Mets placed Cliff Floyd on the disabled list yesterday. Floyd strained his right quadriceps while running to first base after hitting an infield grounder in the first inning of New York's April 11th game in Puerto Rico. Floyd was helped from the field, while Eric Valent came in to pinch-run and take over in right field while Shane Spencer moved over to left to cover the position left open by Floyd's departure.
