Yesterday, Philadelphia acquired Kelly Stinnett from the Reds for a player to be named later. Mike Lieberthal has rebounded nicely and Todd Pratt's a solid back-up. However, given the tight race for the wildcard the Phillies wanted to be sure they had a third catcher in September, allowing them to freely substitute for the other two and/or use Pratt as a pinch-hitter.
