Minnesota placed Rick Reed on the disabled list last week. Reed missed his August 12th start as a result of back spasms but felt as though he'd worked through the problem and wouldn't need a DL trip. He made a relief appearance on the 14th that went well, however after starting on the 17th his back again became a problem. An MRI revealed a bulging disk in his lower back and he's likely to miss the remainder of the season.
