Diamond Challenge

SP(6)
Randy Johnson: Mon:@MIL(D.Davis); Sat:@STL(M.Milder) or Sun:@STL(M.Morris)
Johan Santana: Wed:@ARI(C.Vargas?)
Jason Schmidt: Fri:CLE(C.Sabathia)
Pedro Martinez: Tue:HOU(R.Oswalt); Sun:LAA(J.Lackey)
Roy Oswalt: Tue:@NYM(P.Martinez); Sun:TOR(G.Chacin)
Roger Clemens: Fri:TOR(T.Lilly)
Mark Mulder: Sat:NYY(R.Johnson?)
Jake Peavy: Wed:CLE(J.Westbrook)
Dontrelle Willis: Wed:SEA(G.Meche)

A.J. Burnett: Sat:TEX(K.Rogers)
Josh Beckett: Thu:SEA(A.Sele)
Miguel Batista: 3 Road at CHC; 3 Road at HOU.

Willis, Beckett, and Batista look like the safest additions to Randy, Pedro, and Oswalt.

With no desire to burn a move this week, even on the tempting Chad Cordero at closer, Martinez and Glaus return to our lineup as the injured Morneau and Edmonds join Giles, Reyes, and Lane on our bench.

Randy Johnson: Mon:@MIL(D.Davis); Sat:@STL(M.Milder) or Sun:@STL(M.Morris)

Josh Beckett: Thu:SEA(A.Sele)
Brett Myers: Thu:TEX(P.Astacio)
Ryan Dempster: 3 Home vs. TOR: 3 Home vs. BOS.

Willis, Beckett, and Dempster unsurprisingly join Randy, Pedro, and Oswalt here. KRod remains out of our lineup until he begins saving games again.

With Mauer and Morneau hurting and no cap room for ARod, our only moves here look like activating David Wright and Craig Counsell while sending Morneau and Dellucci to join Brady Clark on the bench.

Josh Beckett: Thu:SEA(A.Sele)
Miguel Batista: 3 Road at CHC.

No starts: Clemens, Mulder, Burnett.

Randy, Santana, Willis, Beckett, and Batista seem logical calls, but with Peavy sick and Sheets uncertain, Pedro looks like the best bet even against Oswalt.

With significant cap issues our primary concern, Reed replaces Edmonds while Mauer subs for Hafner, who joins Morneau, Roberts, and Reyes on the bench. Returning Roberts to the lineup is tempting, but with his playing time an obvious question, Giles remains active.

Willis, Beckett, and Santana will accompany Randy, Pedro, and Sheets here.

Chavez's hot streak allows us to return him to the lineup for Blalock. Victor Martinez, Khalil Greene, and Jeremy Reed replace Morneau, Furcal, and Kearns, allowing us to sneak under the cap. Hafner, Giles, Glaus, and Lane remain benched.

Today's Fantasy Rx: With AL clubs spending the week in NL parks, remember to sit all your DHs unless you know they'll remain in the lineup. Among AL teams, only David Ortiz appears likely to continue playing every day. Josh Phelps, Travis Hafner, Frank Thomas, Lew Ford, and Raul Ibanez appear at the most risk to lose at-bats.
