Diamond Challenge

SP(6)
Randy Johnson: Thu:@BOS(B.Arroyo)
Johan Santana: Fri:@CLE(S.Elarton?)
Jason Schmidt: Fri:@COL(J.Kennedy)
Pedro Martinez: Fri:FLO(J.Beckett)
Roy Oswalt: Fri:@CIN(P.Wilson)
Roger Clemens: Wed:@NYM(K.Ishii)
Ben Sheets: Fri:STL(J.Suppan)
Mark Mulder: Wed:CIN(Ra.Ortiz)
Jake Peavy: Tue:@CHC(M.Prior?); Sun?:@LA(J.Weaver)
Rich Harden: Sat:ANA(J.Washburn)
Oliver Perez: Fri:CHC(C.Zambrano)
A.J. Burnett: Tue:PHI(R.Wolf); Sun:@NYM(A.Heilman?)
Josh Beckett: Fri:@NYM(P.Martinez)

Burnett and Peavy are the best bets since they're the only two pitchers that might double. Santana, Clemens, Sheets, and Harden look like better gambles than Oswalt, Mulder, or Perez, especially considering Pedro and Beckett face each other and neither Randy nor Arroyo holds a clear edge on Thursday.

Holliday returns to the lineup for the injured Morneau, Giles remains in our lineup since he now appears healthy, and then Jose Reyes and David Wright remain seated since we're not convinced they'll continue performing against Houston and Florida this week. With over 1000 of cap room available, Jim Edmonds replaces Jeremy Reed to give us the extra power boost.

SP(6)
Randy Johnson: Thu:@BOS(B.Arroyo)
Roger Clemens: Wed:@NYM(K.Ishii)
Mark Mulder: Wed:CIN(Ra.Ortiz)
Jake Peavy: Tue:@CHC(M.Prior?)
A.J. Burnett: Tue:PHI(R.Wolf)

No starts: Santana, Schmidt, Pedro, Oswalt, Sheets, Harden, Ol.Perez, Beckett.

The normal incongruity of the early season leaves us with only five IC starts; Beckett will complete our rotation since he costs nothing to leave active and gives us the most cap room.

Offensively, we have the cap room to deploy Helton for three games in the BOB, so he'll replace Morneau. Iguchi, Jose Reyes, Edmonds, and Holliday all stay benched for now.

With Pedro facing Beckett, Randy in Boston, and Schmidt in Colorado, we happily will deploy our other six starters due to their likely superior numbers.

We'll flip nearly out entire lineup, opting for Closser, Helton, Hudson, Barmes, Holliday, and Glaus over Buck, Morneau, Giles, Greene, Kearns, and Reed, thereby removing the primary injury risks from our lineup and deploying our Rockies in the BOB and Coors. Ensberg and Drew also stay seated after their slow starts.

Today's Fantasy Rx: CDM introduced a fantastic new feature this year. Rather than pressuring owners by forcing everyone to submit lineups by 11PM(CDT) every Sunday night, you now can make moves until 12PM(CDT) Monday afternoon for an extra $.50/taxi switch. While we still recommend submitting your lineups by 11 to save the couple of bucks, now no one needs to worry about ending a long weekend early just to make CDM moves.
