AL Outfielder Week begins tomorrow.

Today's Fantasy Rx: Based on each player's keeper potential heading into his sophomore season in the majors, select rookie first basemen in the following order in minor league drafts (I've included the preferred round price for Ultra leagues): Prince Fielder($15), Jason Stokes($10), Larry Broadway($10), James Loney($10), Brad Eldred($5), Tagg Bozied($2), Todd Self($2), and Ryan Shealy($2). Only Fielder possesses both the skills to star in the majors and will find an open starting job by the time he reaches the majors. Stokes sees a starting job open if Carlos Delgado doesn't sign with the Marlins, although his BA might stay low indefinitely. Broadway and Loney are great bets for long-term success but face potentially significant stumbling blocks if Nick Johnson and Hee Choi respectively improve. Eldred lacks plate discipline, and while Bozied, Self, and Shealy own fairly strong skills, I expect them to head elsewhere due to respective presences of Phil Nevin, Jeff Bagwell, and Todd Helton, who will continue starting for no less than two more years.
