First Basemen Week begins tomorrow.

Today's Fantasy Rx: Based on each player's keeper potential heading into his sophomore season in the majors, select rookie third basemen in the following order in minor league drafts (I've included the preferred round price for Ultra leagues): Andy Marte($15), Edwin Encarnacion($10), Jake Gautreau($5), Jeff Baker($2), Scott Seabol($2), Joe Dillon($2), and Jamie D'Antona($2). Selecting any of the last quartet is a risky move, however at least Seabol and Dillon easily could break camp in the majors and therefore merit a higher selection, perhaps even a Dollar Days' grab. I certainly see no reason not to target the trop trio of prospects here, but exercise caution when considering Baker and D'Antona since both players may need at least two more years in the minors.
