Spring Training Battles: '04 NL Central
by Tim Polko

Today's Fantasy Rx

Chicago Cubs: Not only are no primary jobs available, the only roster spot in question is the 11th pitcher, a contest involving Juan Cruz, Todd Wellemeyer, Francis Beltran, Felix Sanchez, Jimmy Anderson, and Jamey Wright. Mike Remlinger's injury problems could open up a second Opening Day roster spot, however Cruz and Beltran appear the easy favorites for any bullpen jobs.

Houston Astros: Only a trade or injuries will create an opening among the primary players on this team. Morgan Ensberg and Adam Everett enter the season as undisputed full-time starters at third base, Tim Redding will be the #5 starter, and Octavio Dotel will close, leaving Jason Lane as the only particularly intriguing sleeper since he merits a starting job but instead will back-up the outfield and first base.

Today's Fantasy Rx: Anyone drafting early in the spring should consider the following players sleepers since they likely will win significant roles but still aren't guaranteed starting jobs: Houston's Jason Lane.
