2003 League Review: FBRALC
by Tim Polko

Today's Fantasy Rx

While we weren't sure what to expect from our first season in a brand new inter-site H2H points league with a snake draft instead of an auction, we were pleased with our draft results for the most part and expected to remain competitive throughout the season. FBRALC is technically a companion league to FBRNLC, the leagues neither share all the same owners. Other differences include the FBRALC employing a draft format rather than an auction and not beginning as a keeper league, however the league might evolve into a continuous format as soon as 2004.

Today's Fantasy Rx: My predictions for today's games(all times CDT):

7:00: Florida@Chicago Cubs
7:00: Boston@New York Yankee

As I mentioned yesterday, Prior will allow the Cubs to even the series while Tim Wakefield should reverse recent post-season problems, shutting down the Yankees as Boston's prolific offense gives them enough runs to win Game 1.

While we don't have much experience playing head-to-head fantasy sports of any variety, compiling a losing record in this league during April worried us. Fortunately, the lesson from our 2003 FBRALC team is that luck should even out over the course of a 25-week season, so don't dump in H2H leagues unless injuries or severe underachievers leave your team significantly out of the running.
